Back to FDIC — Where the Fire Service Meets the Future

There’s a certain energy in the air when FDIC rolls around, and if you’ve ever walked those floors, you know exactly what we’re talking about. It’s not just another conference. It’s where the fire service shows up, stands tall, and pushes forward together.
At The Thin Line Rock Station, FDIC has become more than an event on the calendar, it’s a

tradition. A reunion. A proving ground. And every year we leave more fired up than the last.
Over the past several years, we’ve had the privilege of experiencing some of the most impressive exhibits and vendors in the industry. From cutting-edge apparatus that redefine response capabilities, to gear manufacturers constantly evolving firefighter safety and performance, the innovation on display is nothing short of incredible.
We’ve walked through booths where new technology is changing how departments operate in real time. We’ve seen training tools that bring realism to a whole new level. We’ve talked with companies who aren’t just selling products, they’re solving problems for the men and women on the front lines.

But what really sticks with us year after year isn’t just the equipment, it’s the people.
FDIC is where conversations happen. Real ones. The kind where firefighters, medics, chiefs, and industry leaders stand shoulder to shoulder, sharing stories, lessons learned, and ideas that shape the future of the job. It’s where partnerships are born, not in boardrooms, but right there on the expo floor.
And this year? We’re expecting it to be even bigger.
We’ve spent the past year building relationships with new partners who believe in the same mission we do, supporting first responders, strengthening the community, and pushing the culture forward. FDIC gives us the chance to take those connections from conversations to something real, collaborations that reach beyond the event itself.
We’re looking forward to reconnecting with the vendors and teams we’ve come to respect, while also discovering the next wave of innovators stepping into the space. Because if there’s one thing FDIC proves every year, it’s this:
The fire service never stands still.
Neither do we.
As we head back to FDIC, we’re not just showing up, we’re showing up ready. Ready to listen, ready to learn, and ready to build something bigger for the first responder community we serve every single day.
If you’re heading out there too, keep your head on a swivel, because the future of the job is being built right in front of you.
And you can bet we’ll be right there in the middle of it.
Rock on, James Hathaway, The Thin Line Rock Station
